Oct. 10--As she finished lunch Tuesday, Osceola junior Lindsay Danielson said she felt fortified enough to battle the elements. She had heard about the tricky wind conditions on a front nine that produced gusts of more than 30 mph on a cold and gloomy day at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wis.
"I had to stay sharp and pay attention to which way the wind was blowing to avoid trouble," she said.
Danielson tamed the wind by knowing when to power through it and when to lay back en route to 6-over-par 78 in the final round of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association's state meet. Combined with her first-round 69, a personal ...
