Deal may reduce noncompliance fee: Trailer park didn't hook up to sewer system.

Oct. 10--The owners of Roy's Trailer Park on Stock Island have paid close to half a million dollars to hook up to the local sewer system.

Now the Monroe County Attorney's Office is asking the County Commission to approve a settlement that would significantly reduce code-enforcement fines levied against the park owners.

"We're hooked up, paid up and sewer's flowing through like nobody's business," part-owner Michael Browning said.

Browning and his partners in the 103-unit park started racking up $100-a-day fines in September 2005 when county Code Enforcement found the park was not hooked up to the central sewer system provided by KW ...
