Party comes to Mountain West.

Oct. 10--The darling of college football seems to change every week.

First it was Appalachian State for its victory against Michigan. Colorado had its turn after upsetting Oklahoma, and Stanford now claims the title -- at least for a week.

Stanford, a 40-point underdog at Southern California, shocked the nation last week with a 24-23 victory in Los Angeles. The game provided yet another reminder this season of how closely matched college football teams are. It has resulted in a topsy-turvy 2007 season.
