Oct. 10--Greeley's 2008 budget is complete and ready for residents to pick apart.
The Greeley City Council finalized the city's 2008 budget Tuesday night and funded an additional three projects.
About a $700,000 boost in property tax revenue this year will fund three new police officers, fill three vacant firefighter positions and will provide raises for some city employees. When officials initially thought no city employees would receive raises because of the budget crunch, it became a sticking point for some council members.
"I cannot approve any budget without something for the general employees," said Councilwoman Pam Shaddock. ...
