Oct. 10--ATLANTIC BEACH -- Challengers in the Atlantic Beach municipal election swept all the town legislative positions, taking the mayor's seat and five council seats from incumbents, according to Tuesday night's unofficial results.

A.B. "Trace" Cooper won the mayor's seat by a 405 to 256 vote, defeating Joyce "Tootsie" Vinson in her bid for re-election to a second term.
