Residents sue town over zoning.

Oct. 10--SWANSBORO -- After a controversial moratorium on development in the town's historic districts and nearby areas ended July with the implementation of equally controversial regulations on future development there, three local business and property owners are suing the town over the new rules.

Beaufort attorney Richard L. Stanley -- representing Joe Valente, Gene Heath and Robert Meadows -- filed a complaint Monday seeking declaratory judgment for the three plaintiffs, which alleges the Swansboro Board of Commissioners made amendments to the town's unified development ordinance at their July 30 meeting that violated the plaintiffs' ...
