Oct. 10--Konawa had to wait three days for a chance to win the Class 2A state fastpitch championship.
Then they had to wait for another hour after the start of their game against Haskell was pushed back another hour after the Class B game went long.
But the wait was well worth it for the Lady Tigers as Konawa came out with a 3-1 win over the Lady Haymakers on Tuesday at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium.
The game started out well for Haskell, the No. 8 seed, with Amber Moats taking Kuestersteffen's 2-2 pitch over the left-field wall.
But Kuestersteffen settled down after that, finishing with 10 strikeouts.
