Oct. 10--Don't be a baby. Get your flu shot. That's what I said last year in a news story about the start of the 2006-07 influenza season.
What this trusty medical reporter didn't admit was that she was Public Baby No. 1. Didn't get the shot. Meant to. Didn't.
That's pretty much how it has worked for me every year.
Since I had never gotten the flu, I reasoned that I didn't want to give my body any ideas by injecting it with a dead flu virus.
