COLUMBUS -- A state lawmaker wants to shield the names of foster parents from the state's public records law, saying release of the information could jeopardize children.
State Rep. Jeff Wagner, a Republican from Sycamore in north-central Ohio, said the public shouldn't have the information unless foster parents have been decertified by the state or charged with a crime.
"As a foster parent, I know there is no way you can make it public information without making it easier for disgruntled birth parents to know where their kids are," said Wagner, who served as a foster parent to six children. "You can't make that a public record and not ...
