Every time I get in earshot of Soulja Boy's hit "Crank That," the waves of nausea hit. I imagine Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X turning over in their graves. Next comes the urge to track down Chuck D and KRS-One and ask them how they feel about this young rapper.

Then again, the 17-year-old phenom must be doing something right. He has thousands of girls declaring their love on his MySpace page. Hardcore males start cranking it every time "Crank That" plays in the club. Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker jumped on a remix of the No. 1 song.
