Virgin Active Health Clubs is planning to ramp up its direct marketing activity, as part of a new strategy implemented by former Swallows Hotel marketing chief Mark Taylor.

Taylor, who joined in August, has appointed Send Marketing Solutions to implement the new approach.

Send has been tasked with creating a major door-drop recruitment campaign targeting over 2 million people across 50 provincial areas in the UK. This first campaign will promote Virgin Active's seasonal membership offers to potential customers.
