Borders Group Inc. has introduced a preview of its new borders.com Web site that will launch early next year and offer expanded e-commerce options.

The site at beta.bordersstores. com does not allow customers to buy items yet, but does show many of the features that will appear on borders.com when it launches in early 2008.

Borders operates its existing e-commerce site in partnership with amazon.com. Amazon operates, provides inventory and fulfills orders for Borders.com, and Borders receives a portion of those sales.
