SEOUL Oct 12 Asia Pulse - South Korea's power monopoly Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO) (KSE:015760) said Friday it has signed a preliminary deal with a Nepalese state-run electricity firm to build a hydroelectric power plant in Nepal.
Under the deal signed in Katmandu, the capital of Nepal, with Nepal Electricity Authority, KEPCO plans to build a hydroelectric power plant and push for bilateral cooperation in the field of electricity, the company said in an e-mailed statement.
The project is the first in which KEPCO will tap into overseas hydroelectric power plant markets, according to the statement.
