RUTLAND - With less than $100,000 to spend, the Board of Selectmen cut 23 of the 52 proposed articles for the Oct. 29 special town meeting warrant.

The board Tuesday night also decided to add two articles to expand the position of the Council on Aging director to full time.

The warrant now includes two borrowing articles and two Proposition 2-1/2 override articles.

Donald R. D'Auteuil, chairman of the Board of Selectmen, said Town Accountant Daniel Haynes estimated available "free cash" to be $475,000, and the balance of the stabilization fund is $746,535.
