That experience could be a thing of the past with technology being developed and implemented by Van Doren Sales. The third-generation family business, which has sold and serviced fruit packaging equipment since 1946, is creating everything from mechanical picking stands to automated integrated fruit packing lines. It is finding high-tech ways of identifying color grade, blemishes, cell structure and sugar content of each piece of fruit and sorting it.
