Severstal wins gold auction in Buryatia (Part 2)
MOSCOW. Oct 12 (Interfax) - Severstal (RTS: CHMF) has added to its portfolio of gold exploration projects by acquiring another greenfield property in the Russian internal republic of Buryatia.
Severstal's North Gold Company won an auction for the rights to the Vitimkansky vein gold section in Buryatia, Vladimir Bakhtin, head of the republic's subsurface resources agency (Buryatnedra) told Interfax.
Bakhtin did not go into detail about the auction, saying only that the property contained about 15 tonnes of gold. He said a company called Vertex and a firm controlled by Peter Hambro Mining also bid ...
