PAXTON - School shootings like the one in Cleveland Wednesday and other incidents of targeted violence are the last step in a continuum that begins with harassment and bullying, William S. Pollack, director of McLean Hospital's Centers for Men and Young Men told the Central Massachusetts Safe Schools Summit at Anna Maria College Thursday.
Referring to key findings from the 2002 Safe Schools Initiative study, Dr. Pollock said that to prevent school violence, teachers and administrators must ensure students are connected to adults and have positive peer relationships.
