Orissa targets nine to ten per cent growth rate

Bhubaneswar, Oct 15 (PTI) -- Expecting an annual growth rate of nine to ten per cent against the existing rate of 7.3 per cent, the Orissa government today aimed to place the state among top five states in the country by 2020.

The government's plan in this regard was part of the vision-2020 which was released here during a meeting of the state planning board chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Among other things, the vision document targeted to reduce the rate of poverty to below 10 per cent by 2020.
