DETROIT _ The Chicago Blackhawks played about as well as any team can play against the Detroit Red Wings. For 20 minutes Sunday at Joe Louis Arena, the Blackhawks had the Red Wings in trouble. Serious trouble.
But they didn't put the Red Wings away. Couldn't. And now it's the Red Wings in position to put the Blackhawks away in their Western Conference final series. With a 3-2 victory in Game 2, the Red Wings take a 2-0 series lead into Game 3 at the United Center in Chicago on Tuesday night.
Kris Draper, about as unlikely and deserving a hero among the Red Wings, scored with 1:15 left as the Red Wings twice overcame deficits.
