AFC Sudbury's poor away league form continued on Saturday with their third 1-0 defeat of the season.
Gifting the home side a first-half penalty, from which they scored the only goal of the game, proved costly for Mark Morsley's team in their first visit to Edgware's White Lion Ground.
With the other leading teams in the division involved in FA Trophy games this was a missed opportunity for AFC to extend their lead at the top of the table.
The three points gained by the home side means they are now level on points with AFC and have two matches in hand on the Suffolk side.
