MEMBERS of Scarborough Council claimed just under [pounds sterling]264,000 in allowances last year.
The highest amount of [pounds sterling]12,324.20 went to Cllr Tom Fox, the leader of the council, while the second highest at [pounds sterling]10,288.13 was paid to Cllr David Jeffels, the cabinet member responsible for tourism and leisure services.
The lowest amounts were paid to former Stepney Cllr Ian Stubbs, ([pounds sterling]3,475.16), who is no longer on the council, and Cllr Colin Haddington ([pounds sterling]3,601.96) of Filey.
