WARREN, Mich., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Sales of Chevrolet passenger cars were up more than six percent in May, led by the all-new, midsize Lumina and Monte Carlo models which enjoyed their best month ever on their way to setting a model year record for the line.

Lumina (20,745) and Monte Carlo (7,642) sales in May set an all-time high at 28,387 units. May marked the seventh consecutive monthly sales record for Lumina and Monte Carlo since October 1994.
