RECYCLING chiefs have unveiled changes to the green waste collection scheme which they hope will make the service more customer friendly.
And they have revealed that the green scheme is going from strength to strength with over 2,500 compost bins issued and a three percent reduction in the amount of waste being produced by households during 2006/07.
The Council's Green and Clean Services Manager, Andy Rutherford (pictured), said the Borough recycled over 38 percent of its waste from April to July, and almost 44 percent in July alone. This means the authority is on target to recycle 40 percent of its waste by 2010.
