PLANS for a new horse riding and exercise area in a Sheffield beauty spot look set to be approved by planners today - despite fears the scheme could damage the city's green belt.
Sycamore Shooting Ground, on Woodhead Road, Grenoside, wants to build a commercially-run all-weather horse riding and exercise area.
The site of the proposed development is west of Wheata Wood, in the green belt.
The 60 metre by 20 metre exercise area would have a wooden fence round it and wood chippings on the ground.
The site is occupied by a U-shaped stable block for 10 horses which has been badly vandalised.
