THE Duke of York will make a return visit to Helmsley on Friday to open a new extension at the town's acclaimed arts centre.
He was last in Helmsley in October 2000 to mark the centenary of the town hall, where his great grandfather had laid a foundation stone 100 years earlier.
Now Prince Andrew is back to open the West Extension at Helmsley Arts Centre at 5pm.
It has been built thanks to the generosity of the late Mrs Dorothy Morley, a loyal friend of the arts centre, who bequeathed her house in Helmsley for the use of the Old Meeting House Trust, the charity that owns and operates it.
