Council workers in Leeds are to be given the chance to take part in voluntary schemes thanks to a pioneering new project.
The council is to launch Leeds by Example, a corporate social responsibility programme that will encourage staff to take part in voluntary work and business initiatives across the city.
Leeds City Council chiefs say the authority will be one of the first in the country to establish such a programme.
Leeds by Example will launch a programme of activities over the autumn which will provide opportunities for staff to join voluntary community projects and payroll donation schemes.
