HARTLEPOOL United will reinstall the iron curtain defence that was the hallmark of last season's promotion, Ian Butterworth insists.

Assistant boss Butterworth, a Premiership defender in his playing days with Coventry and Norwich, is confident the Pools backline can return to the form which saw them keep an amazing 25 clean sheets last term.

Pools have made a strong start to the season with three wins from the opening five matches and impressive displays even in the two defeats to Luton and Leeds.
