MEMBERS of the Parachute Regiment Association staged a successful recruitment drive in the town centre last week.
Seven ex-servicemen from the Hastings branch manned a stall in Priory Meadow shopping centre to highlight the need for new members.
The association, based at the RAFA club in Wellington Square, has suffered a decline in membership recently, but is determined to see the branch flourish.
During the day the history of the parachute regiment was fondly remembered, including their vital contribution to the Battle of Arnhem and the D-Day landings.
