A former Leamington woman has spoken of the plight of animals in Jamaica where she now lives.
Animal shelter worker, Maureen Sheridan, attended Leamington College for Girls in the early 60s before moving to the Caribbean island in 1981 following the death of her husband.
She made a living by producing music and wrote a book about Bob Marley before founding The Animal House, which is one of only two shelters on the island, in 1996.
Ms Sheridan, who is in her 50s, said: "I set up the shelter because no one else was doing anything about the shocking state of stray and injured animals on the north coast.
