ONE of Cumbernauld's best-known sporting figures has died.
Ramsay Goldie, of Carbrain, died at Monklands Hospital on Sunday August 26 following a period of illness. He was 61.
A railwayman by trade, Ramsay is best-known locally for his lengthy association with Cumbernauld Amateurs FC. Ramsay was with the club for well over three decades in various roles including captain, manager and chairman, and helped Cumbernauld establish itself as one of the most successful amateur clubs in the district.
