A HARROGATE man who cashed a [pounds sterling]20,000 cheque accidentally posted to his home and spent it on luxury goods, including a car and a holiday, has escaped a jail sentence.
John Houseman, a married father-of-three, told his wife he had won the lottery after successfully cashing the cheque, which was delivered to his Regent Street home in February 2005.
