A RARE bird being re-introduced to Scotland's east coast has been spotted in the skies above Stonehaven.
On Sunday, Glenury resident Barry Allan was astonished to see what he thought was a Golden Eagle soaring overhead.
"We were sitting in our back garden when we saw the bird," he said. I thought it was a Golden Eagle from its call, but then thought 'no - it can't be'. Then a friend called round and said he had seen one too."
On Tuesday evening, Mr Allan and his friend, Adam Christie went out bird-spotting and were able to track down the bird and note the identification markings on its wings.
