The death of the comic actress Alice Ghostley in September prompted obituary writers to recall the title of her first Broadway show, the musical comedy revue "New Faces of 1952." The most successful of half a dozen similarly titled frolics staged between 1934 and 1968, the 1952 edition was revived for the screen two years later. All but one of the "New Faces" revues were produced by a former vaudeville singer-hoofer named Leonard Sillman. During the 1920s he was partnered with Imogene Coca, destined to become Sid Caesar's invaluable TV co-star on "Your Show of Shows."
