CRIME has plunged nearly two thirds in Broad Street in just over two years - thanks to a successful levy scheme and partnerships with the police and council.
Latest figures from the Broad Street Business Improvement District Team show there were 2,083 fewer crimes in the city's Golden Mile in the year to April 2007 compared to two years previously.
Statistics show that 1,266 criminal incidents were reported between April 1, 2006 and March 31, 2007.
But there were 3,349 incidents for the corresponding period from April 1, 2004 to March 31, 2005.
