Five Western herb gardens show a diversity of sizes, styles, and plants
What's an herb garden? To some, It's any small patch of earth that produces basil, chives, oregano, and other culinary herbs that are snipped and pinched for cooking.
To others, an herb garden means something much grander. It could be a formal layout with geometric brick paths, boxwood borders, and a mixture of culinary and medicinal herbs. Or it could be much more casual, with large beds of loosely arranged plants that include the broadest definition of an herb - a plant or plant part valued for its medicinal, savory, or aromatic qualities.
