A recent conference in Rabat opened up the perspective of wide areas where Morocco and Britain might cooperate to their mutual benefit. Chris McIvor reports from Morocco on a growing trend to break loose from the country's predominant ties to France and Spain, and resume a historical relationship with the English-speaking world.
According to a Moroccan speaker at a recent conference in Rabat on British- Moroccan relations, the rapid expansion of economic, cultural and political ties over recent years is not something new. It simply represents the reestablishment of a close historical contact temporarily broken during the era of the French protectorate.
