RECORD crowds of around 10,000 flocked to Beverley Racecourse for this week's Ladies' Day event.
Shrugging off the unsettled weather of the past few days, and a downpour just before racing started, racegoers donned their most glamorous outfits for a day of high fashion, racing and fun.
And despite the high spirits, the crowds were later praised by police for their behaviour.
A police spokeswoman said licensing officers had described the huge crowds as 'the best behaved races gathering they could remember'.
