A WELL-known Garstang cheesemaker wants to expand - to enable it to put the blue in its award-winning blue cheese.
Dew-Lay Cheese, off By Pass Road, has submitted a planning application to Wyre Borough Council to create a building to house the spiking, blueing and maturing of the Garstang Blue Lancashire Cheese.
The cheesemakers currently manufacture the blue cheese, which won the Best Blue Cheese category in the North West Fine Food Award 2007, on the site but it is then transported to Thirsk, in Yorkshire, for spiking and maturing.
