PALM BEACH, FLA. -- Although more than 700 drugs can cause skin eruptions, dermatologists should be familiar with the most likely culprits and how to manage the adverse reactions they can cause, Dr. James Q. Del Rosso said at the annual meeting of the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.
Drug rash with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) syndrome, serum sickness-like reactions, and drug-induced lupus reactions can be caused by agents that a dermatologist is likely to prescribe, said Dr. Del Rosso of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
