STORNOWAY airport has been facing further media scrutiny today, after another aircraft's landing was delayed because of the staff shortage in air traffic control (ATC).
Yesterday's (Sunday's) Loganair flight from Edinburgh, via Inverness, had been delayed by an hour due to bad weather; and by the time it arrived in Stornoway, the controllers on duty had reached their maximum controlling time.
The plane was forced to form a holding pattern, circling the airport for half an hour.
