Once home to Boston's Charles Street Jail, the 16-story Liberty Hotel is a $150 million property at the foot of Beacon Hill. Developer Richard Friedman is tight with Sen. Hillary and Bill Clinton - so much so they have made a habit of bunking up in Friedman's Martha's Vineyard home. The presidential candidate has yet to check out the new hotel, but one of her opponents, Sen. Chris Dodd, has already made the trip (although he skipped the Alexandra Champalimaud-designed presidential five-room spread).
