MIAMI -- Burger King Corp. (NYSE:BKC) announced today that the HAVE IT YOUR WAY[R] Foundation has accepted a $4.5 million grant from the BURGER KING[R] McLamore Foundation, designated for funding of a scholarship program in the name of Burger King Corp.'s co-founder, James W. McLamore.
The HAVE IT YOUR WAY[R] Foundation intends to continue the BK[R] Scholarship Program, which is currently operated by the BURGER KING[R] McLamore Foundation. The program is designed for highly motivated high school students. Eligibility is based on academic performance and financial need; some scholarships are available only to students that are part of the BURGER KING[R] system.
