A bike trail linking downtown Cincinnati to similar trails in the eastern end of the city -- and ultimately to ones across Ohio -- is getting closer to reality.
The trail -- and a nearly $3 million bridge that will have to be built to carry it over the Little Miami River -- will eventually connect downtown with the Little Miami Scenic Trail, also known as the Loveland bike trail. That 70-mile path stretches from near Terrace Park almost to Springfield.
Backers hope that eventually will link up with paths that cover much of the state, allowing bikers to pedal from Cincinnati to Cleveland.
