SATURDAY NOON; The art of tending to allotments is alive and well in Melton with waiting lists for council-owned plots.
The borough council has six allotment sites across the borough which are each rented out at [pounds sterling]32 per year.
At Doctors Lane, there are 57 plots, three of which are vacant, while there are no vacancies at The Crescent (23 plots) or at Redwood Avenue (15 plots).
According to Jo Spencer of Melton Council, the vacant plots have never been cultivated and will need some work.
At Lake Terrace, where there are 30 plots, there are a few vacancies but these plots require substantial work and will not be ready for ...
