FORT WORTH--Tandy Corp.'s Radio Shack is expanding its in-and out-of-warranty repair service program beyond traditional consumer electronics products to include cellular phones, specifically the Nokia brand.
Beginning this week, The Repair Shop at Radio Shack, located in 130 of Radio Shack's 6,500 outlets, will handle repairs on all phones made by Nokia Mobile Phones of Tampa, Fla.
This is the first time that Radio Shack's service centers have been authorized to repair cellular phones other than those that are the Radio Shack brand. Nokia, in fact, has been manufacturing Radio Shack's private label phones for about a decade.
