TWO aid workers who recently returned from West Africa have vowed to continue their efforts to support a poverty stricken country.
Whitby women Sue Beck and Carole Elliott spent two weeks helping the people of Burkina Faso.
They were humbled by the poverty they saw which included a one-year-old girl who weighed just three kilos, an ambulance stretcher on the back of a motorbike and a 10-year-old girl carrying 20 litres of water on her head.
The pair, who both attend Whitby Christian Fellowship, were inspired to take the trip after meeting Pastor Dar Sie Joel who, three years ago, visited Whitby to study English.
