THE father of a boy killed on a motorway said last night his son may have been rushing home because he was afraid of the dark.
Kieran Coupe, seven, and his six-year-old pal Guy, whose surname has not been confirmed, were struck by three cars as they crossed the M56 close to their home in Runcorn, last night.
Kieran's father, Colin Lambert, 31, said he suspects the boysmay have got lost inwoods which separate their housing estate in Murdishaw, Runcorn, and the motorway and accidentallywandered onto the carriageway.
The two boys were killed outright in the tragedy which happened at around 7.20pm.
