The humidor meets the gyroball. Can't wait.
More than likely the gyroball is all myth, like the yeti or Fox News, not that the Red Sox need another weapon to strike out the Rockies batters.
In Boston, at bog level, some of the pitches the Rockies admired for called third strikes were without exotic names but nonetheless effective.
Whether it was Josh Beckett's fastball or Curt Schilling's slider or that looping bat freezer curve thrown by Hideki Okajima, the Rockies have treated all of it with a benign curiosity.
