A SOLDIER from Great Easton has been put forward for a commendation after his quick reactions saved comrades from being killed by a roadside bomb.
Trooper Tim Stafford (18), of Broadgate, returned from a five-and-a-half-month tour of Iraq with the Kings Royal Hussars Tank Regiment on October 1.
On one operation the former Uppingham Community College student was part of a Warrior armoured vehicle crew, driving through Basra checking for deadly roadside explosives.
