Ever since she was a little girl who would prep vegetables and pitch in with Sunday meals, Patty Kady of Shrewsbury has connected with food.

She's an adventurous, self-taught cook who worked for top-notch catering businesses in Boston before becoming Central Division Community Director for the Massachusetts Chapter of the March of Dimes two years ago.

Her charisma and food knowledge have helped snag some of the area's best chefs and restaurateurs for participation in fundraisers for the March of Dimes, including its "Chefs for Healthy Babies" event held this fall at Union Station in Worcester.
